When to book a family photography session?

So many times I have spoken to friends and family who say they are hesitant to booking in a family shoot and come up with so many different excuses like having to loose weight, life being too busy, children being too little or being worried that they might misbehave during the session.

The thing is, it might never feel like the right time, there will always be something that will be getting in the way because let’s face it, life with kids, whether they are little or big, can be rather crazy a lot of the time. In the meantime our children are growing so quickly and we miss out on preserving these special moments. I like to imagine my children looking at our family photographs in 20 or 30 years time, the memories mights be long gone but how precious will these pictures be to look back on.

However hectic this time in your life might seem at the moment, it’s a time worth documenting.

The images below were taken at sunset at Muriwai beach, Auckland, which is one of my favourite locations to photograph at and we just couldn’t have asked for a better evening weather. So many smiles, giggles, cuddles and love!
