Top 5 Parks in Auckland for Relaxed Family Photos

While the beach is a classic choice for family photography, sometimes a park is even better—especially if you want greenery, shade, and room for kids to run around. Luckily, Auckland has some incredible parks that make the perfect setting for relaxed family photos.

Cornwall Park is one of my favourites. With its wide open spaces, tree-lined paths, and iconic stone walls, it offers so much variety in one place. Kids love it here because they can explore while we capture candid moments.

Auckland Domain is another gem. It has beautiful gardens, open lawns, and heritage features that bring character to the photos. It’s also great for families who want both natural and slightly more formal backdrops.

Western Springs is wonderful if your kids love wildlife. The lake, swans, and big shady trees make it both playful and scenic.

For something central, Albert Park in the city has stunning flower beds and historic charm, perfect for families who love a touch of colour.

And finally, Long Bay Regional Park—if you want the best of both worlds (beach and park), Long Bay gives you grassy fields, forest walks, and sandy shores all in one location.
