Extended Family Studio Photoshoot

There’s is something very special about photographing in a studio setting. No props, no distractions, no worrying about time of day or the weather. These photographs becomes so much more focused on the people in the photo and their emotions and deep connection. Organising a family photography session can be a wonderful way to commemorate your entire family and it offers a moment to capture memories involving all family members from different age groups or other relatives. Family sessions are also wonderful birthday gifts to celebrate someone very special and create beautiful memories to look back on.

Michelle and her gorgeous tribe are always a pleasure to photograph. I was so excited when I heard they are expecting a new addition to their beautiful family and couldn’t be more thrilled to get to photograph her at just 5 weeks old. When it comes to baby photography, there’s something truly magical about embracing the natural, unposed moments. As a photographer, I’ve found that the most beautiful and timeless images are the ones that unfold organically—without forced poses, stiff props, or unnatural backdrops. Instead, I prefer to document babies in their most authentic state, allowing the session to flow naturally and ensuring that every image is a heartfelt reflection of those fleeting newborn days.

Sometimes you don’t have to travel very far at all to find a great location for a photoshoot. I had the pleasure of photographing this gorgeous family without even leaving the city and I can’t get over how spoiled we are for stunning locations here in Auckland.
